The Humanoid Typhoon

Posted by LewToons - April 19th, 2011

If Vash would actually just KILL people he would actually save way more lives than by doing what he does. Seems he causes more damage by drawing out the fights to keep his enemies alive and taking non fatal shots..

oh well...guess that's what wolfwood is for

(my first time through the series - good stuff so far!)

[in flash news i got a lot comin' out so keep an eye out ]

i liked this dude a lot

I watched Trigun all in one sitting. I really enjoyed it as well.

While I enjoyed the series in my youth. Vash is just another Anime stock character. The kind of character who goes from place to place changing the mindsets of others while following a set of "must only do the right thing" morals while everyone else in the world he lives in thinks he is a fool at first meeting only to later have gained something morally or some form of infspiration from his lifestyle. One of the most notiable aspect of this kind of character is his unablity to ever give up on his beliefs or set of morals no matter what the cost.

Other examples of Anime (that I have seen) that includes this kind of stock character include: Naruto, Bleach,...hell I can't name more because I haven't watched enough to really come up with a list. But yeah. I think you get my point.

i have actually seen a lot more than 3 anime series haha...

i found vash to be one of the most unique protagonist characters. its not like he is some ultimate badass who rarely speaks and is impossible to wound

jubei (ninja scrolls) genosuke (basilisk) list goes on.

Trigun was pretty good. Wish it ran longer though

@Lambinvoker: First of all, you can't judge Anime as a whole based on three shows of the same genre. Secondly, that's hardly strictly an Anime convention; what you described could easily be applied to Western shows as well (see Walker, Texas Ranger, among dozens of others).

Personally, I'm a big fan of Trigun. It was interesting to me to watch a show whose main character had such a strict set of moral codes, as opposed to most heroes' "only kill it if it's bad" or whatnot.

ilik animu

I'm guessing you have netflix? XD but yeah it's a good series, not as good after watching cowboy bebop/champloo/ paranoid agent/ gungrave but one of my favorites. He probably could have saved more people by killing baddies, but that would make ren sad

the characters in bebop and champloo are tough to beat.....

the only series yet to bring tears to my eyes though has been samurai 7 UNBEATABLE!

KYUZO > VASH

Wolfwood's story was a lot cooler than Vash's IMO

i'm just glad he is in it haha
