Newgrounds Radio Features

if what i've heard is correct - there will be a fully integrated newgrounds radio in the redesign?

i sure hope so - -

The reality is i really have just been annoyed with any commercial music for the past year or two so

THIS DESKTOP RADIO BY PODERoDUNKhas been my music station

now PLEASE do not misconstrue this as a knock at his awesome radio creation ,because i really have enjoyed this thing...unfortunately to its full extent. I listen to it SO much that i begin to hear the same songs over again.(which is alright some times - i believe it just grabs each genres top 50?)

i believe newgrounds music is very undernoticed and underappreciated so i am really hoping for a chance to get aquainted with more music when the redesign launches

in the meantime, here are two features i am REALLY hoping for:

One artist i have always loved the music of is my old pal Slug-Salt - so i think - what if i could just listen to all of his (or any artist's music as a full playlist) so what i think would be a cool option, is for any musician to have a " Convert artist to playlist" button which allows you to listen to the full library of a musician as a sort of playlist. i would use that on tons of artists i like or even just as i am trying to scout music for toons

Second - and this is along the same vein - - but over the years i have accrued some "favorites" on my profile - and i would love to also listen to THAT as a playlist - so i could hit "Convert favorites to playlist" and be able to listen through all the music i have favorited?

so yeah - obviously these ideas wont be used or implemented but just me shootin the shit while i take a break form animating - - back to work!

(screen cap of one of the LAST scenes i have to animate for EFZ: vol1 - - to release in NOV!!)

nahh not bad at all - once i first started gettin on board with it, i was like...well shit, Newgrounds is pretty talented....some of the classical stuff is just unreal

i would love to get in there and dig around more but its just hard to sift through. i'm going to try more - - i would LOVE a daily awards system for audio ( shoulda written that above)

I know this would be rather time consuming, but you could download all of the songs and put them into your mp3 player, or favorite computer media player. I'm still in full support of the great idea you're suggesting, but I bet you can do this yourself and finish long before the redesign comes and performs some act of musical miracle.

There won't be an official radio with the redesign launch but we have some plans for Adobe AIR stuff that will hopefully bring an official sort of NG radio to places. As for playlists, I'm hoping we can tackle them as part of the big Audio Portal updates post-launch.

awesome! even just the option to construct playlists would be really cool even if its post remodel - -as for adobe AIR , havent heard of that : /

As much as I love the flash portal to death (Seriously I think it's one of the best video and game content thingers on the web). I don't really bother submitting to the audio portal anymore since ways for people to notice and hear your tracks are so bad

holy shit. never knew about that radio. Thanks for sharing! Listening to some nice dance tunes right now. I'm digging it. All the ideas you listed are great. I also think it would be cool to make the "recommended" or "you might also like" more powerful and prominent on a song page. I don't know what criteria is currently being used to determine similar artists or songs, but it could be more powerful. Spotify seems to get it right on, much more so than iTunes genius. Perhaps there's a format that could be copied?

new ep in NOV already. i really wasn't expecting another or rather ep 1 till mid or late next year. It seems to be the trend with great series. Good job on keeping on track, cannot wait.
